Do you know Stanley Kunitz and his poem The Layers? I've been thinking about it today and this post just landed right into the midst of that thinking with remarkable resonance. Thanks, always, for sharing your work!! https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/54897/the-layers
That poem is brand new to me, what a perfect fit. That last line says it all. "I am not done with my changes." For good or for bad, we are not done with the silhouettes still to come.
This is beautiful. I love the image of the nesting dolls. That feels so true for me. And I love the kindness that you give to all the parts and stages and silhouettes.
Love this so much. I'm in a similar season, learning to embrace and love all the parts of me while trying to make sure the current, more healthy version of myself is in the driver's seat. Thanks for sharing. :)
Hi Lauren, so glad it resonated with you. I'm glad to hear that other women are leaning into these things, too! I see overlap in what you write on your Substack as well.
Thanks for mentioning and linking to Oldster Magazine!
Glad, too. Really enjoy what you do! Love a peek into the thoughts on aging from everyone you spotlight.

Thanks, friend. I love that we have both been learning this kindness to ourselves over the years. I see it in you when we get together.
Thanks, friend. That means so much!!
