I LOVE what you've made of your tangle, even if it does feature magpies. Perhaps next time try chickens. Seriously - thank you so much for taking us along, showing your work. It is SO GOOD.
Let me know if you need any new source material, I’m heading outside! And is, of course, my answer to your previous posting: digging in the dirt with chickens to quiet the noise in my head.
This is so lovely. I especially love that the magpie is holding on to truth and the idea that fear is good trouble. Thanks for sharing that wonderful mind of yours with us!
Oh I love this post so very much!!! (The first of yours I’ve seen; I’m now happily subscribed!) I’m wondering if I could print it and somehow keep it in something roughly resembling a zine! It’s so very lovely and relatable, magpies are such a good comparison for the creativity and collecting impulses our brains often have, picking and choosing all the wonderful little details and words and pictures and thoughts and things that light up in our minds! This post very much counts as one of those little treasures for me that I want to collect!
Thanks for coming over to visit and subscribing, Megan. Welcome! And thank you for the encouraging words. So glad the art resonated with you! I'm going to keep working with the images and if I get them into a 'zine or individual prints, I'll be sure to share it here (also, my husband is currently setting up an Etsy shop with my work and I'll share that too, once it's up).
Oh I really love this and finding your style, what style to do or follow is my biggest creative killer. That’s why I try painting daily, to take the pressure off and knowing you can try the other tomorrow - but of course it doesn’t alway work out that easy.
I love your magpie drawing and the words! Thanks for sharing 💛
Yes, knowing there's always another go tomorrow is really helpful. I can make a drawing session feel like a life or death situation. Lowering the stakes helps to much! Thanks for the encouraging words!

You'll try anything to get me to draw chickens! Which works because now I have a sudden urge to draw a chicken.
Thanks for always cheering me on.

Thanks friend, I'm a fan of your mind, too.
I love being surprised when I'm writing or making art and that's what happened during my "research" time.
I LOVE this. I also have a magpie mind for a nest and have the same Notes “problem”
Beautiful writing comes out of that magpie mind of yours, Annelise. Thanks for sharing the post and the encouraging words.

Thanks, happy to be here! And I’ll look forward to your Etsy shop and possible ‘zine! :)
