Wow, I really feel that quote "studiously avoiding writing." It definitely expands to other creative disciplines for me. I enjoy sharing our teaching struggles:)

“We like to know how a project will end before we begin.” I am the same, and it is such a creativity blocker! I’m glad you moved this piece forward to the finish line—it’s encouraging to see all the creativity going on! Love the birds ❤️

Thanks for the encouraging words. 💛 It's good to hear another thing we have in common. 😂 I've figured out ways to work around this block when it comes to visual art but I'm still figuring it out with writing and directing. It helps that I'm currently teaching a unit on improvisation in my theater class: How to jump in and be present even when you don't know where the scene is going. No pre-planning!

First of all, the crochet succulents? 😍 The Guest Nest is brimming with creativity. I think I generally struggle more with finishing than starting and right now I’m wrestling with the idea of whether I can learn to follow when I’ve led for a long time. Glad to see you back in my inbox, friend.

I will pass on the compliments to the crocheters! I don't have a clue how they do what they do.

It's starting AND finishing for me.

As for following versus leading, for me, I think I do best with a clear role. Either The Leader or The Silent Follower, not so good at an in between...I want to hear more at our next acai bowl date!
