Control is an illusion, isn’t it? Yet, we seem to attempt to harness it out of the need to latch on to some sense of normalcy. Routine can make the anxiety less intense, I suppose.
I’m happy to hear the arrival of your third child wasn’t as difficult. I hope it all worked out well and that your daughter is thriving now.
Thanks Darcey, yes I should add a note at the end with an update: she underwent a second open heart surgery and two more heart procedures (one coming up this year) but she is twenty-one and healthy. She lived abroad in France for her sophomore year of college. In fact, she's rather unstoppable.
